Author: harry888

If you’re reading this, then you’re probably interested in personal development. Personal development can help you improve yourself on every level, and can fundamentally change your life in a variety of different ways. This article will give you some great tips that will guide you on your quest towards self improvement.

Use mistakes as growing points. Everyone is going to make mistakes from time to time, whether serious or very minor. Either way you go, you have to understand that these mistakes are sometimes inevitable, and the best thing you can do is learn and grow from these mistakes, using them to propel yourself forward instead of letting them hold you back in frustration and discouragement.

Value what is most important in your life, and show the respect that its due. You would do everything for what is most important right? Try putting that into practice daily, and live for what is most important in your life. You will find a life worth living if you do this.

If you don’t have time to study formally but you really want to improve your knowledge about a specific area there are some great resources online. There is one website called Khan’s academy that will actually provide you free videos of every subject that you can imagine complete with activities to work on.

Personal hygiene can be a big part of improving yourself in many ways. This means going beyond the basics and actually developing some kind of skin care regimen for yourself. You will be surprised at the difference that healthy skin can make in the way that others interact with you.

Personal development, like so many other things, truly must come from within. When you decide that you want to improve yourself you should write down a list of all of the things that you want to make better. It will not be possible to do all of these at the same time, however.

This world moves really fast, and sometimes you might feel like you have no other choice but to move fast with it. This forces you to make hasty decisions, or feel the need to anyway. It is important to slow down and make the right decisions because every decision you make affects your life.

Do not forget that personal development means much more than just working on all of your skills. It also means working on who you are as a person. If you are religious this can be to work on your spirituality and if you are not it means working on your inner peace.

As the beginning of this article has discussed, engaging in personal development can be a very challenging and intimidating task. However, if you are equipped with the right advice and information, improving yourself becomes a much easier goal to reach. Apply this article’s advice and be on your way to meeting your personal development goals.

How You Can Teach Others To Become Independent Leaders

Author: Sydney Dinsmore

If I could give you an idea that would help you become a better leader would you be interested? What if I told you that it’s easier than you might think? That perhaps we all try too hard and as a result we take power and control away from those that look to us for guidance. That as leaders we should be doing more to create a relationship of honor, trust and respect rather than thinking we’re helping by doing everything for people. If I could help free you of the burden of doing everyone else’s work, wouldn’t life be easier for you as a leader?

Limiting freedom of people who want to learn from you by teaching them to depend on you may cause them to have a sense that you feel they aren’t intelligent or creative enough to make their own choices. They may fear being without you when the time comes for them to go their own way. To really help others for the long haul teach them what making their own choices will feel like, look like and how they will benefit from it. Ask them to complete tasks for themselves rather than doing it for them.

By allowing those you are leading the freedom to make their own choices you are building a relationship of respect and honor. Show honor and respect by sharing control in the relationship your building with your students. They will in turn learn to become problem solvers for themselves and to think their way through obstacles rather than relying on you for everything. They will learn to use their own knowledge and make their own decisions that will move them forward towards their goals.

Introducing your students to freedom right away will help them feel okay with making mistakes. You will be there for them to help them if they have questions to get them started safely. Giving them freedom right away gives them you as a safety net just in case they stumble. But they need to realize that soon they will be on their own. Be sure that you let them know they are more important to you than the choices they make.

Let’s say you teach them that they really need to do a specific training on marketing tips, but they don’t get it done. Don’t be disappointed in them, just let them know that it was their choice to make the decision to do it or not and refuse to take responsibility for their action. Then just keep moving forward in your training allowing them to make choices along the way. Make sure they know you aren’t going to give up on them and they are still worthy of your time.

Be sure as a leader that you know what your goal is for your student. Are you wanting them to be dependent on you or would you prefer that they make their own decisions? Is it better to build a relationship with people who will become leaders too, or do you want followers waiting for you to do the next step for them? Are you willing to take a close look at yourself to be sure you are fearless and ready to be independent? Or are you depending on someone else to control your choices? Are you prepared to accept mistakes as they happen and not be fearful of them but take control and be accepting anyway?

By empowering your students you won’t have the burden of doing everything for them. You will be teaching them to become independent leaders too. Isn’t that so much easier than taking on everything all by yourself? Best wishes for you and your business.

Author: vinod

Root cause of tension….

In the present world all are talking about the work pressure, tension etc which all can be avoided if we are able to understand the root cause.

If we analyze all the cases in detail that are causing this so called “tension”, “pressure” etc, we alone are the culprit. But then we are taken away by the materialistic point of view & simply putting the blame on others.

Our human body is the most complex where in no one is able to understand how all the functions are synchronized with in no time. We all are gifted with decision making capabilities, but then still when it comes to critical situations at which a decision has to be taken; we try to play a safe game so to avoid criticism. The saddest part is not escaping from the game, but commenting on the action behind the scene.

We are all hung up in the head. This is the main problem & the one & only solution for that is get down from the head into the heart & all problems disappear. All the problems are created by the head. Mysteries remain but problem will disappear.

All the experiences that happen in life are like the small clouds; they come & go& are not worth paying much attention to. One should always remember that they are the sky, the clear blue infinite sky & then no clouds can distort you. Take no notice of such small clouds & they will never come uninvited.

We should be able to live our life in such a way that nobody is harmed neither by our actions nor by our words. We should live in a creative way, with skill & art. Live in a sensitive way & never become attached.

Root causes of all depressions are expectation & anxiety. The only solution is to remain detached.

The example of bee is worth mentioning here in this context.

The bee gathers honey from all kinds of flowers but it remains unattached. It will go the rose, to the marigold, to the lotus etc. It will move from flower to flower gathering honey, but it is not attached, it does not cling.

Another beauty is that, although the bee gathers honey from many flowers, it never destroys any flower. It collects what so ever it needs, but in such an artful way with such skill that the flower remains absolutely the same.

Life is never static; it is in a constant moment. So if we cling to anything, it will bring misery. When there is a beautiful sunset, let us all enjoy that, but do not cling on to it. It will soon disappear while watching itself. Then the night will fall, but let us not worry about that, the night has its own beauty. (Shining stars will decorate the sky).

So if someone has been attached to the beauty of the sunset, they will be crying because it is no longer there, & in that crying they will miss the beauty of shining stars appearing the sky.

We all are living in a world surrounded with anger, with jealousy, with possessiveness, with ego. One should refrain from all these gross elements because all these are destroying so much energy, wasting many good opportunities. All these energies should be transformed into good actions by helping others & serving the society there by adding more joy leading into peace.

There is a systematic process which is ongoing in whatever actions we perform.

Step 1- Creating a feeling:-

This is the basic step & naturally all the actions that are following us are because we have creating a feeling towards the object in the very first glance. That is why the famous statement “First impression is the best impression” holds always true at all times. But then there will be lots of questions in all your mind that will be against this logic. Let’s wait & see……..

For example:-

When one person appears for the interview, & if he is directed neatly from the front desk, he automatically creates a feeling in his mind that this place will provide a good working atmosphere. But then in reality it might not be appealing to all. Still if the mind has created a positive feeling in the first moment it will really help to perform well in the interview too.

Another example:-

When i see a flower in the garden, i am creating a feeling that this is the most beautiful flower & is adding value to the garden as such. This feeling is re-emphasized many times & our mind accepts that feeling. Even there can be situations that this plant might be in the garden from a very long time; still we might not have noticed the same. But once the mind creates a feeling it will strongly keep on hold.

Step 2 – Thought:-

Once our mind accepts that feeling, it encourages us to think more. We will start to compare the color, look, appeal, fragrance etc of the flower with other & re-assures that this is the best flower in the entire lot. This thought strengthens the idea that this is the most beautiful flower. Even this is very much applicable at all our daily life.

We might be planning to buy some clothes for birthday & we will create a feeling that, I should buy both cool denim and a sexy check shirt. Now even in the statement itself how can I state that denim is cool and check shirt is sexy? Because I have created a feeling in my mind that this will be the best & is in fashion. Now this thought will be literally bothering me all the time & i will be thinking as to from which store I should purchase? Which brand will be better? How good I will be in that and all.

Whatever matter you take all these plays the same role. It can be anything starting from setting a wakeup call in the morning to choosing your better half.

Step 3- Attitude

This thought really shapes our attitude towards that object or the idea that we have already conceptualized. We always feel & compare whatever we see & feel with that of the idea which has been framed in our mind.

Step 4- Habits

These attitudes will be clearly reflected in our habits. This can be better explained with an example.

Example:-

If a person has created a feeling in his mind that alcohol consumption will help him/her to relieve from all his tensions, then that feeling will create a thought in his mind that drinking is the only option for a stress free life. This thought will be inscribed deeply into his mind & he/she will have an attitude that all drinkers will be tension less beings. Even in the reverse dimension, all non-drinkers will have a stress full life. Even we can very often hear from many people that “Life is a waste if you are not drinking. You will not enjoy the beauty of life”. If we seriously analyze that statement, does that add any value? Such attitude frames his habit & he/she will feel that daily will be so boring if at least two pegs are not consumed.

The enjoyment that they are proclaiming is purely again a feeling that we are creating in the mind. Even if such a comfort is felt, that is purely for a short time.

Step 5- Personality

Such habits form part of our personality. The habits are not evolved suddenly; we have made up our mind so strongly that it takes a very long time to unwind the bad habits & re-learn the good ones.

This can be explained with an example (positive dimension).

Example:-

If a kid has been brought up in a family where they used to help the deserving persons, it helps the kid to have an understanding that service to mankind should be our primary duty. This will not be grasped by the kid in a day or a week’s time. The parents or the elderly members will be explaining as to why they are doing such good deeds and all. During the course of time, the kid grows & in his mind a feeling might have come across that like his parents he should also help the needy with in his limit & capacity. Such a feeling will lead to thinking & he will indulge in a thought process as to how he can help the needy. This will create a frame work & his attitude towards life will change & his mind always wishes to do good things. This clearly can be depicted from his personality. He will be approachable to all & always will have a helping mind at all times.

Conclusion:

Most of us live our lives in the world of time, in memories of the past & anticipation of the future. Only very rarely do we touch the timeless dimension of the present- in moments of sudden beauty or sudden danger, in meeting with a lover or with surprise of the unexpected.

Everybody is trying to remain a separate entity: trying to protect themselves, defend themselves. We are not separate, no man is an island. We are part of the continent, so it’s baseless & useless to fight with the continent.

Let us all dissolve into the whole, drop the ego. We have to forget ourselves that we are separate, let us make ourselves a part of the whole & feel & visualize how beautiful & sweet it is.

Hell & heaven is within oneself. We can be the hell & we can be the heaven, it is always us & it is our decision. Heaven is not somewhere else; we have to create it just as we create hell. It is a psychological state. Once we release that we are the creator there is great freedom.

We are ready to travel miles & miles in search of bliss. We make ourselves ready to visit many pilgrimage & temples that are very very far off & that prayer is nothing other than a business or a trade. In that sense we all are traders. We always expect something in return. We go to the temple & pray & give donations, but in return we pray to the god to give this & that. This is nothing other than a trade. We are business minded.

The temples & sacred places are having positive vibrations & is a good place for meditation. These places will help us to uplift our mind-set to a higher level. But for that the temples will only guide us, we only have to make our mind & proceed on with the journey.

A true seeker is not after knowledge, he is after knowing. He wants to learn the very process of learning. He is not at all interested in arriving at the conclusions. He is not interested in goals. But he is very much interested in the journey as such itself.

The very idea of a goal is created by the lazy mind so that one can rest once it is achieved. The people who are interested in goals always will be interested in short cuts. A true seeker has no desire, no ambition. He will be interested in this moment, & will enjoy every now & here.

The ego is the only problem & then it creates & thousand & one problems. It creates greed, lust, anger, jealousy so-on & so forth. The people will go on fighting with greed, with anger, with lust. But it’s futile. Unless the root is cut, new branches will be coming up in geometric progression.

We all have to serve the mankind without any expectation & the dissolution of the ego is the greatest revolution. If we service the needy one’s now, it is pretty sure that we will get the return of all the good deeds at a later point of time. But let us not work for that with such expectation.

By Bonnie Moehle, Self-Realization Coach

Each year I invite my family over for Thanksgiving. Although it is a lot of work, I love doing it. The joy I feel spending time with my family makes it all worthwhile. We have a tradition before we eat. We go around the table and each family member shares something that they are grateful for. I love this part of the festivities. It makes me smile.

I believe that focusing on gratitude is imperative in creating a happy life. So often we put our attention on the things we don’t have or the accomplishments we haven’t met. We are tough on ourselves, noticing our faults rather than our positive qualities. In our relationships we focus on what is wrong with others rather than what is right. We focus on what we are not getting rather than on what we are receiving.

We do this because we have been taught that focusing on the negative will give us the drive to get better and others the desire to change. This theory is untrue, and where it seems to work it is only a temporary motivator that quickly reverts back to old behaviors. Focusing on the negative creates emotional pain and lowers our energy leaving us unmotivated and feeling down.

But, what would happen if we placed our attention on gratitude; what we have, what we’ve accomplished, and what we are receiving? What if we celebrated even the painful moments as a message for personal growth? What if we made it a point to celebrate with gratitude every day? We would have greater levels of energy, we would be more productive, and we would attract more of what we focus on into our lives. Note: What we put our attention on we get more of.

So start a new Thanksgiving tradition. Be grateful on November 24th and every day thereafter. You will feel better, accomplish more and experience more joy and success.

Author: Richard Rowson

Passive aggressive people can be very difficult to deal with, but this doesn’t mean it’s impossible to cope with this personality type. Whether it is a relative a friend or a colleague that possesses this personality follow some of the tips below to appropriately live, work or be around this type of person.

My first tip is to simply avoid any kind of power struggle as you will never win. As I’m sure you are aware an argument, heated debate or conflict of interests can lead to a complete locking of horns where you are left feeling frustrated and at a loss over and over again. If an argument can’t be avoided or other discussion begins to get a little heated, always try to remain calm especially when you speak and demonstrate this with a relaxed and polite tone of voice. Also try to see the argument from their point of view and let them know that you understand their opinion, this can really help soothe matters and end any aggressive moments quickly.

Always try to be the best communicator that you can be when talking with someone. Ask them how they would solve a problem or how they would improve a situation. By doing this you are allowing them to voice their opinions without them having to shout you down first, it’s similar to you giving someone space when they need it. Dance with them don’t fight them!

When it comes to negative or even hurtful comments it’s important that you continue to remain calm, consistent and respond only with positive comments yourself. For every negative comment an aggressive person makes respond with 2 positive comments.

Sometimes passive aggressive people can respond with more intensity than needed, even to a simple suggestion or constructive advice. To avoid this problem try not to bring in your own judgements or evaluations. Instead talk about the impact a situation is having on other people and the impact it’s having on you. This way you’re not accusing anyone of any wrong doing but merely outlining what’s happening and the effects that are occurring.

A great tip to deal with such people either at home or at work is to give tasks that are straightforward and not over complicated. These can be tasks that you know they are good at and tasks you know they will succeed at, allowing them to feel successful and positive as much as possible. Doing this will allow all people involved to avoid as much confrontation and negativity as possible.

Author: John Smart

What Precisely Is Positive Thinking

Positve thinking is defined as a mental attitude that admits into the mind thoughts, words and images that are conductive to growth, expansion and success.

He refers to it as a mental attitude that expects good and favorable results. A positive mind anticipates happiness, joy, health and a successful outcome of every situation and action. Whatever the mind expects, it finds

Just What Is It

A lot of books have been written on the subject, seminars have been held and people pay a lot of money to attend these seminars and buy these books this only reflects on one thing; people want to achieve success and they are aware of the fact that the only way to achieve this success is through having a positive or optimistic attitude.

The word positive itself means dealing with facts, viewing these facts in a positive manner. Others may say positive thinking is always looking at the bright side of every situation no matter how unfavorable it may be. Optimism and happiness are associated with positive thinkers.

Positive thinking is a skill that can be taught and acquired by anyone; it is a tool that can help you reach your goals, deadlines and dreams. Remez Sasson later labeled positive thinking as the act of reviewing thought processes and personal actions for areas that need improvement and for areas with negative implications, and then using the appropriate tools to change those thoughts or actions in a positive, goal-oriented way.

Basically positive thinking is identifying the negative thoughts in your mind dealing with them by realizing that the negative implications may hinder success and eliminating them from our minds.

With a positive attitude failure may slow you down but it will not stop you from arriving at your destination which is success.

Beefing Up Your Confidence

Confidence is ‘the belief in oneself and one’s powers or abilities.’ This feeling can easily be mistaken for the feeling of knowing you are better than others or that you do not care about what others think which is incorrect confidence is not about other people it is about yourself how you view yourself, how you reflect yourself and knowing your capability and capacity.

Self Assurance

The first step to improving your confidence is cutting out that internal voice in our mind that keeps telling you that it is not possible, block it out and start asking yourself of what the worst case scenario is, it is usually not that bad as the voice in your head. After experiencing something you feared doing for the first time you realize that it was not as frightening as you thought.

Moral support is a very important part of beefing up your confidence, always confide in someone that can help you feel better about yourself. Opening up about your fears and feelings will not only make you feel better but it will give you another view of how other people see you and hearing someone tell you that you can do something can give you that one extra nudge into doing something. Be that as it may your confidence level in yourself has to be developed gradually.

Sometimes attempting something alone may be over whelming so you may try to find a partner that may motivate you, a good example is jogging, when you feel lazy to go jogging your partner will call you and expect t see you at your jogging spot this will help you in getting started in whatever project you want to indulge in.

Always consider the fact that if it can be done by others you as a person can also do it, it only requires for you to take one single step to begin a journey and it only gets easier as you move along.

Author: Andrew Horton

Is every hour that passes during the day, the most effective use of your time? Whatever you choose to invest your time into each hour, will determine the quality of life that you get to live. Time is on the wing and it will just continue to fly past you in a blur of discontent, unless you make the choice today to invest yours more wisely.

As each hour passes during the day, spend 10 seconds looking back at that hour and ask yourself:

Was vegetating in front of the television the most effective use of my time, or could I have invested that time into my spouse or family?

Was driving my car mindlessly listening to the radio, which filled my head with negative information the best use of my time or could I have been listening to an inspirational or educational CD?

Was pushing the snooze button and having that extra 9 minutes to sleep the best use of my time or could I have woken up and read a couple pages of a good book?

Is reading the newspaper that is filled with sensational news and negative information the best use of my time or could I have read a few pages of a good book on self-development?

Is visiting happy hour every night on my way home the best use of my time or could I have taken my spouse for a romantic dinner?

Is blundering with no plan through each, the most effective use of my time or could I invest 10 minutes at the end of each day planning my day for tomorrow?

The list goes on and on, it is not difficult to look back over every hour in your day and to very quickly discover, numerous better ways, to have used each one. This simple new hourly habit of examining how you use your time will, in a very short space of time, see you making far better choices, about how you use your most valuable possession.

This is such a simple new habit to include in your success habit set; it is easy to do and takes only a few seconds each hour. Give it a whirl, everyone that has introduced this simple new routine into their day, has very quickly realised that they waste an incredible amount of time, every day. By merely looking back over the previous hour and asking the question “Was that the most effective use of my time” and if it wasn’t then striving to do better in the next hour, will see you improve your efficiency and effectiveness almost instantly. Over time this will add up and you will astound yourself with how much you can actually get done in a day.

As each hour passes, with its successes, mistakes, cares, faults, lessons, blunders, learning, aches and pains it is gone forever. That hour has passed forever, beyond our control, all the money in the world can never bring it back. You can never undo a single act or erase a single word that you spoke. Can something that is so important and can never be repeated, the passing of each hour of our lives, be treated with such contempt.

Is it wise to continue to waste even a single one, on frivolous activities, which will bring you only small pleasures in the moment? Life is filled with choices, are you going to make wiser choices about how you invest each hour of your life, from this moment on? Live each hour as fully as possible, always investing it as wisely as possible and you will have discovered the secret to living a complete and fulfilling life, filled with love and grace.

Author: Eddy

We all experience stress from time to time. A small dose of stress keeps us on our toes, make us perform better, Too much of it can take a toll on your health and well being. Therefore it is important to manage your stress level before it manage you. There are many ways that can help reduce high level of stress to a more manageable level.

These are 5 ideas that work well for me and I use it constantly.

Try it and see if it works for you as well.

Or better yet. Come up with your own formula for de-stressing.

1. Know you limit
There is only so much you can do in one day. If you feel that you cannot cope with so much on the plate, ask for help. Or just say no. Sometime it hard ask people for help and decline additional work. But if you don’t do that, you are subjecting yourself to situations that can cause you stress during the day.

2. Water
Water is great for relaxation. You can go to the swimming pool at the end of a busy work day. The water is a great way to release those tension built up in your body. But if you want privacy and you have a tub a a home. Fill it with warm water, dim the lights, play some soothing music and add a few scented candles. It is a great treat for the senses to unwind.

3. Sleep Well
You body needs to be well rested to be able to cope with daily stressors. Try getting at least 8 hours of sleep a day. Catch a nap in the afternoon after lunch instead of getting back to work immediately. Find a comfortable chair and curl up for a short siesta or even lying your head down on your desk for a quick snooze brings relaxation as well as increased productivity and health benefits.

4.Listen to your body
Your body will rebel if you ignore your stress level. One of the major health problems from stress is hearts disease.Pick up a few stress management techniques and put a stop to low-grade chronic stress before it becomes a bigger problem. Some of this early warning sign include stomach upsets, poor sleep and headaches .

5. Make time for fun
One of the best ways to deal with stress is to have fun. Make time to do something that you enjoy. Watch a movie with friends. Play some sporting activities. Find people with common interest and form a social group. The wonderful thing about having fun is that in additional to de-stressing, sometime I gain new ideas and fresh perspective on things I am stuck with. It is nice when the solution comes to you when you are having fun.

Author: david

When it comes to setting goals, there are not many of
us that are very good at doing so. There are plenty of
opportunities for mistakes to be made, but the real
problem comes in how we set them as well as what we
do once we set them.

For starters, it is essential to know what your goals are.
Take a few minutes right now to figure this out. Simply
sit down with a blank sheet of paper (yes, you can use
your computer too!) and avoid all distractions for ten
minutes.

Write down anything and everything that comes to your
mind in regards to your goals.

What are they?

Where do you want to be in a year?

Who do you want to have with you?

Where do you see your business in five years? 20?

What dollar amount of sales will make you happy this year?

What do you need to make in profits to reach a new level of satisfaction each year?

All of these things may be things to spark your mind.
Determine where your business will be within the next
years. Look long term for starters. Then, follow these
tips.
Goal writing is made easy through some basic steps.

1. Write down your longest term goal. This is the
place that you want to be in a number of years,
or the place you need to be to be as successful as
you plan to be.

2. Give yourself a time frame for making that
happen. You may want to say that you want to
make your first million in two years. Or, it may
take many more for that to happen. Giving your
goal a time frame helps to get your mind set in
how to make that happen. If you leave it open
ended, the long term goals are not benefited by
your actions each day, as they would be here.

3. Give yourself smaller goals to reach as steps up
to the larger one. For example, the new
entrepreneur may be able to say that he wants to
be in an office, set up and running within a month’s time. In six months, he plans to be
running into profit, after expenses have been paid
down.

Determine what your steps are to reaching
your goal. Make sure that you write them with
time frames attached too.

4. Now, write them by hand on paper in the
following manner. “Within six months, I will have
paid off all debt that I owe and be running in the
clear. I will do this by pushing sales and not
pushing any new expenditures during that time.”
In this manner, you have listed not only what the
goal is and the time frame to have it done, but
also how you will get there.

5. Take this piece of paper and place it everywhere
and anywhere that you will see it at least several
times per day. Seeing it will allow you to think it.
Thinking about it makes it happen. Success
through goals is the only way to find it.

Now that you know what your goals are, it is essential
for you to make sure that they do happen.
You will need to read those goals each day, at least one
time per day. When you think it, see it, feel it, you
make it happen.
